Mitt Wardlaw grew up on his family’s hog farm outside of Batesville, MS. After high school Mitt went on to continue his education at Mississippi State University where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Crop Science in 1997. During college he continued to farm on his own as well. After completing his undergraduate degree, Mitt went on to get his Masters. During graduate school Mitt had various job experiences with Dr. Alan Blaine (State Soybean Specialist), Dr. William Moore (Plant Pathologist), Dr. Jim Hamer (Ag Entomologist), and Jim Thomas (State Irrigation Specialist). After graduating with his Masters in 1997, Mitt went on to co-found Southern Ag Consulting with Dr. Alan Blaine and Brian Ward in 2008. In 2009, Mitt helped to co-found Alliance Ag Risk Management and also started his own land management business, Midsouth Resource Management.
Mitt, as the co-owner of Southern Ag, serves as the Director of Precision Ag and Water Management. Mitt is licensed and certified as a Mississippi consultant in Ag Entomology, Ag Plant Pathology, Ag Weed Control, and Ornamental and Turf Weed Control. He is also a Mississippi Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator in Agriculture, Forest, Ornamental, Aquatic, and Industrial.
Mitt covers the area between Hwy 8 South and Hwy 82. When not working, Mitt enjoys spending time with his family and bow hunting.
