Zac grew up in Collierville, TN, where he got his start in agriculture working at Russell’s
Farm Supply Co. He carried his enthusiasm for agriculture to Mississippi State
University, earning a B.S. in Agronomy and an M.S. in Plant and Soil Sciences, with a
focus on soil fertility and precision agriculture. While in graduate school, Zac gained
hands-on experience scouting crops for a local consultant, teaching undergraduate soils
laboratory courses, and contributing to research in nitrogen remote sensing, soil fertility,
and soil health.
Prior to joining Southern Ag, Zac spent six years in Texas and Oklahoma working as an
Agronomist and Precision Ag Specialist for a major ag retail chain before returning to
the Mid-South. He is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and a Certified Professional
Agronomist (CPAg) in the state of Mississippi. Optimizing soil and nutrient management
is both his profession and his passion.
Zac, his wife, and their three children live in Collierville, TN. Outside of work, he enjoys
spending time with his family and being outdoors—hunting, fishing, barbecuing, and
gardening.
